I had a great job before Covid… Restrictions on mass gatherings don’t bode well for a Live Audio Engineer…

With my new found free time, I started to look into game audio and quickly realised the development of games goes hand in hand and looked very appealing. I started to dive in, taking all the knowledge I could get, but had no clue how to go any further. I wanted really cool games that I could then put audio over, but who wants to make sound effects for Pong?

Luckily over in Middle Earth (New Zealand) we opened everything up just in time for summer and I had a successful festival circuit. Now going in to winter things get a bit quieter again with no international artists…

After a lot of procrastination and hunting for resources, I came across a fantastic program by GameDevHQ and have decided to take the plunge in to trying to fashion some income out of this magnificent and ever — expanding industry.

Here’s where my progress really begins…
